Serving in Mexico

Ministry Highlight

The rewarding experience of being able to train, advise and mentor youth leaders

Added Goal

Sharing and promoting YMI’s vision with other global workers here in Mexico.

¡Hola! We are the Reyes family: Roberto, Erika, and their 4 daughters Sophia, twins Luciana and Emilia, and Natalia.

The burden God placed on my heart to serve Him as a youth pastor led me to the USA in August 2005 to gain biblical ministry training. My goal was to always return to my home country of Mexico, as it is a country in desperate need of faithful, committed ministry workers; who engage with teenagers, and are actively seeking ways to share God’s Word. I am excited that God opened the doors for my family and me to work long term with YMI as missionaries to Mexico. We have been on the field since October 2017.

Our ministry with Youth Ministry International here in Mexico City is to train nationals for local church youth ministry. One of the ways that we are doing this is through a formal training program called The Center for Youth Ministry at two nearby seminaries here. We also train by way of workshops, seminars, and conferences. Roberto directs YMI’s Latin America ministry and in addition to Mexico, we are praying and looking for opportunities to help spread youth ministry programs in Latin and South American countries.

¡Que Dios te bendiga!

We ask you pray with  us concerning the following:

Pray for Mexico City Christian Academy where our four daughters attend and Erika continues to teach, that the school will remain strong and grow.
Pray for the church leaders, that they will come to fully understand and see the need for allowing trained youth leaders to work with their young people.
Pray for more students to receive training at the YMI Center for Youth Ministry in Mexico City, and for wisdom in developing future partnerships with other seminaries through Mexico and Latin America.
