“I’ll go down in the mine,
if you’ll hold on to the rope!”

From Sonnet Barr – Director of Ministry Advancement

Many of you reading this already support (or are holding on to the rope of) a YMI trainer. On behalf of all YMI trainers and ministries, we say “Thank you.” Many of us have been raising support for years and we know God has provided us with partners who support us to be His hands, feet, and hearts around the world. We rest assured that this is still His formula and plan.

However, this is a difficult time. There is a worldwide pandemic. It has affected economies around the world. Some of our missionaries have lost support from their individual and church partners due to a loss of jobs and a drop in giving.

One of the greatest things God’s people can do with their finances is to make sure that Kingdom workers have the resources they need to continue God’s work. These are your missionaries, your team, your family.

Please know that the next time a Kingdom worker asks you to meet with them to tell you about what God is calling them to do, just meeting with them will be an encouragement. Pray about investing a little of God’s provision towards that worker’s financial needs. Who knows — your ‘holding the rope’ for a YMI trainer might be the most rewarding thing your family does with some of your Kingdom giving this year.

YMI Appointees to Malaysia currently raising support:

The Coronavirus Pandemic has changed plans for nearly everyone over the last six months. When we first set out to become full-time trainers with YMI, our goal was to be spiritually healthy, vision-driven, fully funded, and moving to Asia as quickly as possible.

Despite the obstacles this pandemic has presented that is still our goal today! God was not surprised by these challenges. He continues to provide. In fact, our support-level has more than doubled since March. It has been an honor and a privilege to meet with people (mostly virtually) to share the mission of YMI in Asia and extend an invitation for them to partner with us in that vision.

God continues to surprise us week after week through the people who are joining us. It has been encouraging and humbling to see so many young people (Millennials and even Gen-Z) who are passionate about Jesus and reaching youth and are willing to financially invest in this mission. We’re grateful to be part of the next generation of missions even through a pandemic.

Thank you for your partnership and please continue to pray for the One Billion Youth in Asia who do not know Jesus.
