Dr. Steve Kaptain
Asia Director
Steve Kaptain is the Asia Area Director for Youth Ministry International (YMI), a ministry that multiplies youth ministry trainers across the globe. He joined YMI after serving in Nepal for fourteen years and serving as a local church youth pastor in the United States for several years before that. Through YMI, he has helped develop and start new youth ministry training programs in China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, and Malaysia. He recently completed the doctorate of missiology program at Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS) where he also serves as the director of the Center for Youth Ministry (CYM). He spends his free time working out or enjoying time with his wife Anju and their three children.
Joe Grom, MDiv
Asia Trainer
Joe Grom is an Asia Regional Trainer for Youth Ministry International (YMI). Joe joined YMI after serving as a local church youth pastor in the United States. Joe is passionate about seeing youth outside the church come to know Jesus through local church youth ministries. He holds a bachelor’s degree in cross-cultural youth ministry from Cedarville University and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. Joe enjoys hiking, technology, and spending time with his wife and two-year-old son.
