YMI's 15th Anniversary

The Center for Youth Ministry Celebrates Fifteen Years

The Kiev Theological Seminary (KTS) recently celebrated its 15th anniversary for the Youth Ministry Degree.

Since Youth Ministry International started the National Center for Youth Ministry in Ukraine, 52 students have graduated with a degree in youth ministry. Many of those graduates returned to the seminary for a  day of celebration, also attending a two-day conference called RECHARGE!”

Youth Ministry International’s Missionary Care Directors, Frank and Karen Mills, were there to celebrate the anniversary and share from God’s Word.

It was a joy for them to be involved, not only in the event, but also to visit with YMI trainers in Ukraine, Sam and Melissa Hughes. Sam and Melissa have been deeply involved in the development of the Center for Youth Ministry in Ukraine and have done an outstanding job working with the local team of professors.

Sam said about the event:

“Our graduates work hard to balance family life, work, and ministry, and they are tired. Therefore, our goal for the event was to encourage them through hearing God’s word, rekindling relationships with one another, and making new connections with other graduates.”

Frank spoke about recharging spiritual batteries by “making space every day to spend time with Jesus.” That is something we all need to do, and it is vital to the success of any youth worker.

Frank stated it perfectly:

“The Youth Ministry degree discipline at KTS is a model ministry for Youth Ministry International around the world. God has been so faithful over the past 15 years and our partnership with KTS has been such a blessing. The Youth Ministry degree discipline at KTS has a very bright future with a solid Ukrainian leadership team which has Sam and Melissa there to walk alongside them in ministry and with our Lord’s continued hand of blessing. To Him be all the Glory!”

God is to receive all the glory for these fifteen years of progress in Ukraine. We are thrilled to be a part of what he has done throughout this time.

Join with us in praying for the Center for Youth Ministry in Ukraine. May God bless them as they continue training youth pastors for local churches who will be able to effectively disciple young people to follow Jesus.

“Faithful is He who has called you and He will bring it to pass.” (I Thessalonians 5:24)
